That's the point. It's a group buff not a self buff.

It makes no sense when every other group buff like archers and barbarians buff themselves and the group

Not only that but the Knight skill it self reads "Buffs yourself and group members"

So, no, that is not the point, either the skill is bugged or the description is wrong. One or the other needs fixing

I assume that you're writing about "martyr" - Of course it's affecting knight himself. This spell has same icon as "Unbeatable armor" so it's replacing this when you have unbeatable armor on you.
