World Bosses: Discover One of Bloodstone’s Upcoming Overhauls

We shared the first details about the World Bosses overhaul, a system designed to bring existing Bloodstone content back into the spotlight and turn it into a more meaningful, competitive, and rewarding experience.

The idea comes from a problem we have identified across different parts of the game: Bloodstone already has systems, creatures, stories, and mechanics with plenty of potential, but some of them are currently underused or do not offer rewards that match the players’ effort.

That is exactly what we want to change.

A New Event Calendar

World Bosses will become part of a new Bloodstone event calendar.

There will not be a single fixed day or time. Events will take place at different times throughout the week, rotating between PvE, PvP, and PvEvP content.

This calendar will help organize the game’s activities, provide more variety, and give different types of players events that better match their preferred playstyle.

Eight World Bosses and One Choice per Event

The first version of the system will feature eight World Bosses.

Each boss will have one global instance per server. This means that every player on the server who chooses the same World Boss will enter the same instance and take part in the same event.

During each event, players will be able to choose only one boss. Once they enter a rift, their account will remain linked to that choice until the event ends.

The rifts will appear in locations connected to each creature’s identity and history, keeping the bosses tied to the world of Bloodstone.

Level Requirements and Unique Rules

Each World Boss will have its own level range.

The initial rule will allow players to enter when they have reached at least two-thirds of the boss’s level. Wolfang Leader, the first boss selected for the system prototype, will be level 50 and available to players from level 34 onward.

Each instance will also have its own rules and mechanics.

Before reaching the main fight, players will need to complete a group minigame that unlocks access to the boss. The plan is for this activity to have a direct connection to the bonus awarded at the end of the event.

The details of these minigames are still being discussed and developed by the team.

PvP, Death, and Returning to the Fight

PvP will remain available throughout the entire instance, using the battle mode system that already exists in Bloodstone.

Each player will be able to decide whether they want to attack other participants or remain focused on the PvE content.

There will be no traditional death penalty inside the event. Instead, players will receive a respawn cooldown before returning at the temple of their home city.

The first death will apply a two-minute waiting period. Each additional death will increase that timer by one minute.

As long as the event is still active, the player will be able to return through the same rift and rejoin the fight.

Collaboration-Based Scoring

The score will be individual, but focused on collaboration.

We want to reward players who truly take part in the event, contribute to objectives, help the group progress, and actively participate in the fight.

The final scoring formula will be defined separately for each boss, considering its unique mechanics and characteristics.

Rewards

World Bosses may reward players with:

Experience, skill points, gold, resources, a new currency, and a special temporary bonus.

Players who reach the minimum required score will receive the basic rewards and a smaller version of the bonus. The highest-ranked participants will receive a stronger version.

If the boss is not defeated within the one-hour event duration, only players who meet the minimum participation requirements will receive the basic reward.

Temporary Bonuses

The bonus earned during the event will remain active until the next World Boss event.

The eight categories currently defined are:

  1. Experience
  2. Looting
  3. Gathering
  4. Health and mana regeneration
  5. Damage against monsters
  6. Elemental resistance
  7. Healing efficiency
  8. Damage against bosses

These bonuses may rotate between events, preventing players from always choosing the same boss for the same reward.

The Gathering bonus will apply to all gathering activities, even when a specific event minigame is connected to one particular resource, such as mining.

The First Step

Wolfang Leader will serve as the prototype for the system.

Its current combat mechanics will be preserved while the team works on the access rift, instance structure, minigame, scoring, rewards, and the other rules required for the complete event.

Once the full flow is working, this structure will become the foundation for the remaining World Bosses.

Welcome to the new era of Bloodstone.

Every week, we will share more information about what is currently being developed and what is still to come.
